This here is Android 7.1.1 Nougat based custom firmware for Galaxy Note 2 N7100. Support for this device has been dropped by Samsung a long time ago but thanks to unofficial developers, you can now enjoy the latest Android OS on this old device as well. You can update Galaxy Note 2 N7100 to CM14.1 Android 7.1.1 Nougat custom firmware using the tutorial below. This is not an official release by Samsung, but just a custom ROM which would require a custom recovery like ClockworkMod in order to flash the ROM zip and Google Apps zip files on your phone. Your Galaxy Note 2 should be rootedand have a custom recovery (ClockworkMod recovery / TWRP recovery) installed.

• The instructions given in this guide are meant for international variant of Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100)only. Verify device model number by navigating to Settings > About Phone
• Ensure the phone has at least 80% battery chargeto prevent unexpected device shutdown (due to battery drain) while installing the ROM
• Back up data and settings using a recommended custom recovery tool, like ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP, as it creates a complete image of the existing phone setup. In Recovery, choose Backup and Restore and tap Backup
• Verify correct USB drivers for the phone are installed on the computer (download Galaxy Note 2 USB drivers)
• Enable USB Debugging mode via Settings > Developer Options (if running Android 4.0 or above) or Settings > Applications > Development (if running Android 2.3 or earlier)
• Ensure that the device is rooted with custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) installed and its bootloader is unlocked
