Photos Military to reopen Nigeria Niger borders roads after three years closure

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has said that the Nigeria-Niger border roads will be re-opened by the military to reactivate and facilitate farming, trade, and evacuation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Diffa province to liberated communities.

Over 85,000 IDPs from Borno state are taking refuge at Diffa resettlement camps, established by the Nigerien government in 2014. Shettima disclosed this on Thursday, while receiving the Nigerien Governor of Diffa Province, Alhaji Mohammoudu Lawaly Dan Dano at the Government House, Maiduguri.
"We have a lot of commonalities of history, culture, folks, religion and ethnicity with the people of Niger. It was the Colonial Masters of Britain and France that divided us with these artificial boundaries and divisions," said Shettima.

He said the IDPs taking refuge in Diffa Province of Niger, are adequately catered for by the Nigerien government, without being discriminated or abandoned, as Niger and north part of Nigeria share the same historical and cultural backgrounds. He said that the re-opening of the border roads with Niger will also facilitate the repatriation of 85,000 IDPs from Niger Republic to Borno state.

"I will meet the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Lucky Irabor next week, and discuss with him the possibility of reopening this closed border roads that lead to Niger Republic. The re-opening of this road will also facilitate the repatriation of displaced persons taking refuge in your province of Diffa.”

Shettima assured Dan Dano that the re-opening of the road could activate and facilitate trade, farming, and tourism, which had been affected by the Boko Haram insurgency for over five years.
Responding, Dan Dano assured the Governor that all the displaced persons in camps, are being taken care of, including the provision of health care delivery services. He said that all the female IDPs that gave birth to babies in camps had been issued with birth and registration certificates

MMM Popularity Continues Scheme’s Website Ranks Top 5 Most Visited In Nigeria

MMM Popularity Continues Scheme’s Website Ranks Top 5 Most Visited In Nigeria

The online page of a controversial deposit money scheme, MMM, has taken a spot amongst the most visited websites in Nigeria, according to Web traffic monitor, Alexa.com.
Statistics available on Alexa, a standard for online traffic evaluation, show that MMM maintained the 5th position for the most part of November, edging out major platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and online retailer, Jumia.com.

PREMIUM TIMES could not find a spokesperson for MMM to comment for this story, but the spike in its online presence might not be unconnected with its growing popularity amongst Nigerians.
Nigerians continue to patronise the scheme —which promises a return of up to 30 per cent on every investment within 30 days— despite all warnings from the appropriate authorities to desist.
The Central Bank of Nigeria recently rolled out a radio and television blitz warning Nigerians not to risk their incomes on the scheme, all to no avail.
Members of the House of Representatives were criticised by some MMM particiP@nts when they called for immediate crackdown on promoters of the scheme earlier this month.
Typical allegations from online commenters were about how the lawmakers were trying to block a critical means of livelihood for the masses.
This week, the group marked its first anniversary in the country by donating gifts to the internally displaced persons in the Federal Capital Territory.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that members of the community as part of their activities marking the exercise tagged: “MMM Cares”, donated relief materials to IDPs at the Gwoza and Bama Camps in Abuja.
They donated bags of rice, garri, cartons of beverages and noodles as well as clothing, and drugs, NAN said.

WHAT’S NEW? – A QUICK REVIEW

From the details above , its obvious that a lot of effort went into the design and overall specifications of this device. Here’s what’s new on the Tecno Phantom 6 :
1. Two Variants :
This year , TECNO Mobile launched two variants of this device ; The Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus. Both smartphones differ in their screen size and internal specifications.

phantom-6-and-6-plus

Phantom 6 Plus is the bigger smartphone , with a 6.0 inch FHD LTPS Capacitive touch screen 4GB RAM , 64GB Storage and 4050mAh battery.
On the other hand  , the Phantom 6 is smaller than the 6 Plus , and has a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen , 3GB RAM , 32GB internal storage and 2700mAh battery.
2. A 5 Layer Metal Design :
One of the unique selling point of the new Tecno Phantom 6 is its incredible design and slim body ; totally different from what we saw on the Phantom 5 .
Tecno Phantom 6 has a 5 layer Full metal body to provide more durability. The back is slightly curved to enable a more firm grip.

Phantom

Each layer adds a unique element to the overall appearance of the device. From bottom up, the body is made up of a Nano molding seamless metal unibody, a firm fastener, a non-detachable battery design , and an aluminum magnesium alloy frame. The corning gorilla glass v3.0 helps protect the screen from scratch and cracks from heavy falls.
3. High-End Camera :
If you love pictures , the Phantom 6 (and 6 Plus) will definately interest you because it comes with world class camera sensors manufactured by SONY.
The camera setup on the Phantom 6 is a little bit sophisticated and different from what we’re used to.
Tecno Phantom 6 comes with 18MP back camera , however , the camera was split into two different sensors ; one with 13MP and the other with 5MP resolution , making a total of 18MP.
The 13MP camera detects the view , while the 5MP camera provides more depth and clarity to the picture.
If we can recall , this same camera setup was used on the Huawei P9 and the iPhone 7 Plus smartphone.
For taking selfies & videos , the Phantom 6 relies on an 8MP front camera with LED flash.

speaker
On the other hand , the Phantom 6 Plus has a single back camera with 21MP resolution , while the front camera has a resolution of 8MP , with LED Flash.
4. Improved Hardware & Faster Processor :
In terms of hardware , the Phantom 6 Plus has a more powerful processor than the phantom 6. It uses a Deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset , which is very fast and battery efficient. MediaTek revealed that the Helio X20 chipset saves battery by 30% , despite its high performance.
Along side this powerful chipset , the Phantom 6 Plus relies on 4GB RAM for effective multitasking , and 64GB ROM for data storage. However , it is important to know that the Phantom 6 Plus DOES NOT come with an external SD card slot. Instead , it comes with an Hybrid SIM setup , which means that you can choose to use one of the sim slots as a memory card slot.
As for the Phantom 6 , it uses a 2.0 Ghz MediaTek chipset for information processing , 3GB RAM for multitasking , and 32GB ROM for media storage. If you want more space , there’s an external SD card slot of up to 128GB.
5. Better Security :
Smartphone security is really important because our personal information will be at risk if hacked. The Phantom 6 provides a biometric iris scanner which scans you eyes before unlocking the device. And if you want more security , you can get the Phantom 6 Plus which comes with both the iris scanner and a fingerprint reader at the back.
6. Android 6.0 Marshmallow :
Both devices run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system , along side TECNO’s custom User Interface called HiOs.
phantom-6-home-screen
HiOs provides better customization , and a collection of themes and wallpapers to choose from.
7. USB TYPE-C :
The Tecno Phantom 6 (and 6 Plus) supports USB TYPE-C port which allows for reversible plug orientation, fast charging and data transfer from Phantom 6 to other devices. This is the first time a technology like this is used on a TECNO device.
8. Battery Life :
In terms of battery , the Phantom 6 has a lesser battery capacity than we expected. It comes with a 2700mAh battery with rapid charge. The battery should take you through at least 7 hours of heavy usage.
On the other hand , the Phantom 6 Plus comes with a 4050mAh battery which should take you a full day of heavy usage without recharge.

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus v Phantom 6

I’m sure by now you’re wondering the difference between the Phantom 6 plus and the Phantom 6.
Both devices are different and similar in many ways :
  1. Phantom 6 Plus comes with a bigger Screen
  2. 6 Plus has more RAM than the Phantom 6
  3. Phantom 6 plus comes with both fingerprint reader and iris scanner , while phantom 6 supports iris scanner
  4. The Phantom 6 uses an Octa-core processor , while the Phantom 6 Plus is powered by a Deca-core chipset
  5. Tecno Phantom 6 ships with 32GB storage , Phantom 6 Plus has 64GB storage
  6. A 4050 mAh battery powers the Phantom 6 Plus , while the Phantom 6 is powered by a 2700mAh battery.
For better illustration , we created a chart showing the spec of the Phantom 5 , 6 & 6 Plus. View below (If you’re on mobile , click on image to download or view full size) :

Should You Buy Or Not?

If you’re using the Phantom 5 and thinking of upgrading to the Phantom 6 , Here’s what i think about this device :
Firstly , i’ld like to commend TECNO for a job well done. From what i heard , it took them over 400 days (almost 2 years) to design and put together the Phantom 6 ; and its really beautiful. Its obvious that they listened to the wish of the fans , and produced a much more better device than the Phantom 5.
Phantom 6 is beautiful all round. Good specs and an outstanding camera. However , i’m a little bit concerned about the battery life. I can’t help but wonder why such a powerful device as this would come with a mere 2700mAh battery which may not last up to 12 hours heavy usage.
On the other hand , the Phantom 6 plus looks like a more “perfect” device , and the 4050mAh battery is a huge positive. However , it dosen’t come with a dedicated SD card slot , but you can choose to use one of the sim slots as a memory card holder.
For me , i think the Phantom 6 Plus will be able to compete with other high-end flagship devices in the market. i don’t see why not.
So , should you buy?
Yes!. Definately. There’s a lot of improvement here , and i think it is worth the money.
If you have enough cash , i’ld suggest you get the Phantom 6 Plus instead of the normal Phantom 6 , because the Phantom 6 plus has better specs and the battery life is really huge for a device of this magnitude.

Tecno Phantom 6 Price In Nigeria

Tecno Phantom 6 Price In Nigeria is expected to start at #110,000 , while the 6 Plus is more expensive , and will start at about #140,000. Both devices will be available on Online Merchants and Offline stores such as Slot , 3CHUB , Omegatron and many more.
Important! : Please note that because of the fluctuating exchange rate and shipping cost , the price will continue to change and may vary across merchants.
  • Jumia Nigeria – Tecno Phantom 6-
  • Jumia Nigeria – Tecno Phantom 6 Plus-
Now over to you , what do you think of the Tecno Phantom 6? Is it a hit or a miss? Will you spend so much on a TECNO device? Drop your comment!.

9 Jobs in Nigeria That Don’t Require a University Degree

This is a list of jobs in Nigeria that could be easily practiced without a certificate from a higher institution.

We can all agree that education is important but however, taking the traditional education route of attending a four-year university after secondary school can take a long time and is usually fairly pricey.

For some, the traditional schooling system is not their forte and the idea of racking up debt in the form of loans is not enticing. If attending college isn’t in your plans, you should consider getting a degree via distance learning programmes or get an online degree in any course. In Nigeria, while you might not need a degree to get a job, you would eventually need it for career progression.

There are still several occupations in the job market that provide a great income, a positive work-life balance and a high level of satisfaction that also don’t require you to follow the typical road towards a four-year degree

However, for a good number of these jobs, you will have to register and get certifications from several certified training and courses aligned with your career.

We have compiled a list of 9 amazing career opportunities that don’t require a university degree. Before we hoist ourselves into the career opportunities, let us remind ourselves that finding a job in this digital age is a different process than it was twenty years ago.

How To Fund Your Bitcoin Wallet In Nigeria Without Getting Scammed

Now that you might have known  http://keith503tw.blogspot.com /2016/10/how-to-create-bitcoin-wallet.html" target="_blank">how to create a Bitcoin Wallet for free, the next thing that should start coming into your mind is how to fund it without getting burnt by scammers out there.

Actually, creating a Bitcoin wallet is one thing, and getting fund into it is another thing; at least we believe that you will want to make use of your Bitcoin wallet for possible transactions and that was why you created it at the first place.

Creating Bitcoin wallet and doing nothing else with it can be likened to opening a bank account and operating it with zero balance, and hence almost worthless.

The easiest method and the most ways people fund their Bitcoin wallet is by obtaining funds from Bitcoin exchangers.

And thus, since most Bitcoin exchange transactions are being done online, choosing the right Bitcoin exchanger in Nigeria should be paramount to any Bitcoin account holder that intends funding his/her Bitcoin wallet.

And off course, nobody likes getting ripped off of his/her own hard earned cash. Now permit me to preach a little here;

‘Just like the Bible described an enemy as a roaring lion always moving around and seeking for  whom to devour’, many internet Bitcoin exchanger scammers are also moving around on the internet like an adversary, constantly seeking for whom to prey upon.

Since we are completely against any form of online scam, we are going to be using this medium to show you how to fund your Bitcoin wallet in Nigeria, without getting scammed.

Must Read:  http://keith503tw.blogspot.com /2014/08/6-things-you-must-know-about-bitcoin.html" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" target="_blank">6 important things you should endeavour to know before carrying out any Bitcoin transaction

Requirements to funding your Bitcoin wallet

•  Bitcoin Address

•  Scam free Bitcoin exchanger

Procedure proper

•  Log into your Bitcoin account on Blockchain with your wallet ID and password

•  After successful login, click on the wallet menu

•  You will see two large buttons displaying Send and Receive

•  Click on the Receive button and an address will automatically be generated for you – the address looks something like this 17ax9KilJMogjNYoPddxcrDdTyH and most times starts with the digit 1

•  Go to Naira4dollar Bitcoin exchanger and register a free account with them

•  On Naira4dollar create a Bitcoin Buy request, and fill in the amount of Bitcoin you will want to buy from them

•  Notify Naira4dollar with your payment details, using the send Alert feature on their platform

•   Finally wait for Naira4dollar to credit your Bitcoin wallet – note that sometimes it can take time for them to fund your wallet, but just be patient with them and be rest assured that Naira4dollar will credit your Bitcoin wallet if you submit the appropriate details.

Precautions Often Worth Taking!

•  Always make sure that you copy your right bitcoin address when supplying  it for funding, for it is like your account number

•  After every successful transaction with a Bitcoin address, another different address is often generated in your Bitcoin wallet, when you request for it; therefore always endeavour to use a new address in any subsequent transactions receive fund transaction.

Hurray! You have just succeeded in funding your Bitcoin wallet without getting scammed.
