Photos Military to reopen Nigeria Niger borders roads after three years closure

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has said that the Nigeria-Niger border roads will be re-opened by the military to reactivate and facilitate farming, trade, and evacuation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Diffa province to liberated communities.

Over 85,000 IDPs from Borno state are taking refuge at Diffa resettlement camps, established by the Nigerien government in 2014. Shettima disclosed this on Thursday, while receiving the Nigerien Governor of Diffa Province, Alhaji Mohammoudu Lawaly Dan Dano at the Government House, Maiduguri.

"We have a lot of commonalities of history, culture, folks, religion and ethnicity with the people of Niger. It was the Colonial Masters of Britain and France that divided us with these artificial boundaries and divisions," said Shettima.

He said the IDPs taking refuge in Diffa Province of Niger, are adequately catered for by the Nigerien government, without being discriminated or abandoned, as Niger and north part of Nigeria share the same historical and cultural backgrounds. He said that the re-opening of the border roads with Niger will also facilitate the repatriation of 85,000 IDPs from Niger Republic to Borno state.

"I will meet the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Lucky Irabor next week, and discuss with him the possibility of reopening this closed border roads that lead to Niger Republic. The re-opening of this road will also facilitate the repatriation of displaced persons taking refuge in your province of Diffa.”

Shettima assured Dan Dano that the re-opening of the road could activate and facilitate trade, farming, and tourism, which had been affected by the Boko Haram insurgency for over five years.
Responding, Dan Dano assured the Governor that all the displaced persons in camps, are being taken care of, including the provision of health care delivery services. He said that all the female IDPs that gave birth to babies in camps had been issued with birth and registration certificates

SONY XPERIA X 2017 A PICTURE UNVEILS A SCREEN ALMOST WITHOUT BORDERS

The Sony Xperia X (2017) should be announced in the coming days but it already speaks about it. A first picture from a visual intended for the press has just appeared on the canvas and reveals its design. A design really very slim since not only the smartphone looks extremely thin but it is especially its side screen borders that surprise.

Sans pour autant proposer un écran « zéro bordures » comme le Xiaomi Mi Mix, le Sony Xperia X (2017) semble offrir un ratio taille écran nettement supérieur à celui de ses prédécesseurs. Les deux bordures latérales sont extrêmement fines et les bordures horizontales ont également été optimisées. En dépit des changements opérés, il conserve toutefois un look similaire à celui des autres smartphones de la marque japonaise.

Notez que pour l’instant, les caractéristiques techniques de la bête n’ont pas encore été dévoilées. Il semblerait toutefois que Sony ait prévu de présenter deux smartphones sous Snapdragon 820 lors du CES de Las Vegas qui ouvrira ses portes d’ici quelques jours. Un choix qui peut sembler étrange puisque nous sommes désormais en 2017 et que la plupart des haut de gamme de cette année sont attendus avec un Snapdragon 835 à leur bord.

Parmi ces deux modèles, on devrait retrouver un smartphone 5,2 pouces équipé d’un écran Full HD 1080p et un autre offrant un écran de 5,5 pouces de définition 4K. Le digne successeur du Sony Xperia Z5 Premium ! Deux smartphones qui apparaissent néanmoins déjà comme dépassés du fait de leur processeur, bien que le Snapdragon 820 reste un excellent Soc.

Espérons qu’ils ne seront pas vendus au prix fort, bien que, connaissant les habitudes de Sony, ça semble inévitable. On apprécie en tout cas le nouveau design attendu sur le prochain smartphone du japonais.
