CYANOGENMOD IS DEAD LONG LIFE TO LINEAGEOS!
After 8 years of existence, the death of CyanogenMod is official. After the closure of Cyanogen Inc., it is the most famous Android ROM in the world that leaves us.Nevertheless, we have good news. The project will continue to live under a new name: LineageOS.
CyanogenMod was without a doubt the most famous Android ROM in the world. So much so that the company had made a name among the best and had been able to develop its own OS baptized Cyanogen OS. The great strength of CyanogenMod was its fluidity, its interface close to a pure Android and the small features in addition that make the difference.
But CyanogenMod, it was also and above all a huge community, a network of mutual aid, a real sharing between the developers and the users. Alas, CyanogenMod is dead. The team announced that the project was closing.
The reasons for this judgment are many, but among the most important of course, Cyanogens creator, Steve Kondik. He had succeeded in instilling Cyanogens own philosophy, but as he grew up, the company began to lose the values ??dear to its founder.
Following the departure of Kondik, the end of Cyanogen OS support by Cyanogen Inc. was announced. Now the CyanogenMod community will have nothing more to say about the future of the project. However, this was the essence of CyanogenMod.
LineageOS: after CyanogenMod
CyanogenMod is dead, vivid LineageOS. If the initial project is abandoned, the CyanogenMod team and the community will join forces to make the new live LineageOS project (or Android Lineage).
