CYANOGENMOD IS DEAD LONG LIFE TO LINEAGEOS!
After 8 years of existence, the death of CyanogenMod is official. After the closure of Cyanogen Inc., it is the most famous Android ROM in the world that leaves us.Nevertheless, we have good news. The project will continue to live under a new name: LineageOS.
CyanogenMod was without a doubt the most famous Android ROM in the world. So much so that the company had made a name among the best and had been able to develop its own OS baptized Cyanogen OS. The great strength of CyanogenMod was its fluidity, its interface close to a pure Android and the small features in addition that make the difference.
But CyanogenMod, it was also and above all a huge community, a network of mutual aid, a real sharing between the developers and the users. Alas, CyanogenMod is dead. The team announced that the project was closing.
The reasons for this judgment are many, but among the most important of course, Cyanogens creator, Steve Kondik. He had succeeded in instilling Cyanogens own philosophy, but as he grew up, the company began to lose the values ??dear to its founder.
Following the departure of Kondik, the end of Cyanogen OS support by Cyanogen Inc. was announced. Now the CyanogenMod community will have nothing more to say about the future of the project. However, this was the essence of CyanogenMod.
LineageOS: after CyanogenMod
CyanogenMod is dead, vivid LineageOS. If the initial project is abandoned, the CyanogenMod team and the community will join forces to make the new live LineageOS project (or Android Lineage). This is neither more nor month of a fork of CyanogenMod which is based on the latest version of the source code. Change of name to avoid conflicts with Cyanogen Inc. but even philosophy.
Nevertheless, the progress of the project may be somewhat more complicated at first.LineageOS is completely independent of Cyanogen Inc. and will therefore have neither the infrastructure nor the financial resources of the company. In addition, the transition to users may be lengthy depending on the communication methods implemented by the teams.

-first of all put the ROM zip in the root of your SD card, (no folder at all)
- boot in the Recovery Mode
Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together
-after which boot your device into TWRP recovery
-after which navigate to wipe system and perform a full data wipe by selecting >> wipe data/factory reset >> wipe cache>>wipe dalvik
-now go back and navigate to the SD card to select the ROM and click on yes.
Your hot note will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.
