Microsoft is developing a new smartphone Surface Phone. This is the first flagship phone of the company, which will be presented after the sale of Nokia.
Live shots of the Surface Phone appeared on Chinese social network Weibo. Judging by the photos, the design of the smartphone is dominated by straight lines and sharp corners. Establish a separate button for the shutter of the camera. On the bottom you can see USB type-C, on the opposite side — the headphone output.
It is known that Microsoft entered into an agreement with Pegatron, according to which the Taiwanese company will be the only ODM-manufacturer of Surface Phone. At the same time in Redmond is testing several prototypes of the flagship, and they are all based on the chipset Snapdragon 835 with support for fast charging Quick Charge 4.0.
One of the prototypes Surface Phone running on a 64-bit Windows 10 Mobile and equipped with 6 GB of RAM. It supports X86 applications. However, their support is limited to the ability to install programs, while their run is implemented only through the Continuum. And another prototype of the smartphone has only 4 GB of RAM and cannot run x86 programs even through the Continuum. And informants suggest that Microsoft will release several options for the Surface Phone to corporate and consumer market.
It is expected that the Surface Phone will debut with Windows 10 preinstalled Redstone 3, and, therefore, its output may be held in August or September 2017.
