The project of “smart” hours Matrix that should not be charged collected 7 times more money than originally planned

The project of “smart” hours Matrix that should not be charged collected 7 times more money than originally planned

Next week on the website Indiegogo will end the fundraiser on the release of Matrix PowerWatch — smart watch “endless” supply. The initial goal of $100,000, developers were able to raise over $730 000.

Despite the success of Apple Watch smart watch has not yet become a new milestone in the development of technologies and there are only an optional accessory, the purpose of which can not always explain even the owners. Problems in such devices are many, but one of the main disadvantages is the one that pulls back all niche and repels buyers — low battery life. Few people want to come home at night and put on charge yet another gadget with the iPhone, MacBook and AirPods.

Therefore, Matrix PowerWatch already have at least one significant advantage — a full-fledged smart watches that do not need to be charged. At all.

Integrated device technology is able to convert human body heat into electricity. No magic: like I learned to do back in 1821. This effect is called the thermoelectric or Seebeck effect: if the place of contact of two dissimilar conductors in a closed circuit have different temperatures, then it raises the electricity. NASA, for example, uses it in their spacecraft — the Voyager and the Mars Rover “Curiosity”. The traditional rubric question: why no one thought to apply this effect in wearable electronics before?

PowerWatch automatically enabled whenever you wear them. If the watch is removed, it is all collected in time use data is automatically saved in the device memory, and it goes into sleep mode. When you re-wear them PowerWatch re-booting and so on. If the watch is not removed, they will work the rest of your life.

There are two versions of PowerWatch: normal and with the prefix “X”. The first is a classic 46 mm. It is similar to a traditional men’s watch, but not able to notify about the notifications. The second one is able, it is bigger (52 mm) and is positioned as sporty. Even something like the famous G-Shock. Judging by the photos, both versions look pretty nice, without feigned of futuristi.

Minus the notification system, the functional hours are the same: they know how to determine the quality of sleep and is considered a person consumed calories. Counting, by the way, is a non-standard way: using all the same termoelectrice. If the usual fitness trackers determine the number of calories burned is indirectly based on your height, age, and duration of physical activity, PowerWatch calculate this number according to the level given to your skin heat. The creators claim that this method is not less accurate and reliable.

Waterproof watch: in the normal version you can swim to a depth of 50 m, in the “sports” — up to 200 m (cook scuba). They work with both iPhone and Android-based smartphones, the diameter of both models is 1.2 inches.

Cost: $ 129 for normal model (shipping in July) for another $ 20 you can buy it in black color, but for $ 179 — PowerWatch X (shipping already in October). Considering how expensive most popular watches, price is very nice.

The new MacBook Pro were much better than analysts had forecast

The new MacBook Pro were much better than analysts had forecast

At the end of last year, Apple released a radically updated model MacBook Pro, which received a new design, a more productive “stuffing” and the touchpad is Touch Bar. Intelligence companies IDC and Gartner came to the conclusion that the rate of Apple in the touch panel and the rejection of all connectors in favor of USB-C was correct and cupertinos begin to gain momentum in the PC market, despite an overall reduction in its volume.

The new MacBook Pro were much better than analysts had forecast

IDC analysts point out that in the fourth quarter of 2016, global shipments of PCs fell by 1.5% to 70.2 million units, and for the full year marked a decrease of 5.7% to 260 million, While Apple’s market share in the last quarter of the year rose from 7.4% to 7.5%.

Mac shipments, if you believe IDC, still decreased by 0.9% to 5,263 million, But this decline was much lower than many other players, and Apple have managed to take 4th place in the rating of the largest manufacturers of PCs, ahead of Lenovo and behind Lenovo, HP and Dell.

At the end of the year, Apple is at fifth place with a score of 18.6 million set of computers and 6.9% of the market. And fourth place, Asus has in its portfolio a share of 7.6% of the market.

Statistics Gartner is slightly different. So,the company believes that in the fourth quarter while Apple only ranks fifth among producers of computers: 5.44 million deliveries and 7.5% of the market. But its backlog from Asus is minimal. And in this quarter, the manufacturer MacBook can circumvent the last in terms of sales and market share.

61 OF PEOPLE VISIT THEIR PHONE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AFTER WAKING UP

61 OF PEOPLE VISIT THEIR PHONE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AFTER WAKING UP

The smartphone has upset our daily life, but how much has it interfered in our habits? For many, their use is addiction, when others defend a simple tool. A new study carried out by Deloitte proves in any case that it is now well present among its users, since 61% of the population consult their phone less than 5 minutes after waking up.

Technology is evolving so quickly that it is sometimes difficult to determine the impact before it is too late. This is why they tend to feed a lot of fantasies and fears in both observers and users.
We are just beginning to glimpse the effects of new technologies on people. Recently, pediatricians have had to remind everyone that they advised against the screens for children under 3 years and follow a specific rule to not disturb the development of early childhood.
A new study, offered by Deloitte Global and conduct of 53 000 people, showed that 61% of respondents see their smartphone 5 minutes or less after waking up 88% over 30 minutes and 96% in an hour.
Moreover, 74% of respondents use their smartphone for 15 minutes before sleep. Social networks and instant discussion applications are the applications most consulted in this framework.
Of those surveyed, 86% had a smartphone (obviously) but only 74% a laptop, also showing a change of emphasis on the devices used daily.
This study could add a stone to the edifice of those judging smartphones to be addicted. The real junkies, we advise a small trick simple to begin to separate from their phone.

As for the debate on the smartphone, we remind nevertheless that a smartphone can also be used as an alarm clock, which could obviously vitiate somewhat this survey.Anyway, instead of everyday smartphone is natural, and is not necessarily to be feared.
