To recall, Xiaomi had earlier this week confirmed the Redmi Pro smartphone will be launching at a July 27 event in Beijing, China.

The company went on to tease the presence of a deca-core SoC and Oled display on the Redmi Pro.

So far, not much else is known about the Redmi Pro smartphone - there have been rumours it sports a metal unibody design, dual rear cameras, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and a fingerprint scanner on the home button.

In other Xiaomi news from this week, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the company had managed to ship 1.5 million units of the Mi Max phablet since its launch two months ago. The 1.5 million units shipped figure came from analyst Kevin Wang on Chinese social network Weibo, and his post reposted by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun - pretty much confirming the credibility of the number. Wang added that similar large-sized smartphones in 2015 saw a maximum of 300,000 units being shipped - contrasting the wild popularity of the Mi Max.
